Transit Of Venus

Did anyone happen to watch this? I hope so because its a once in a lifetime oppurtunity as it won't happen again until 2117. Venus makes a slow transit over the face of the sun.

I actually minored in astronomy so of course I had to check it out. My secret is out...I'm a nerd!

My hubby took this through my telescope

The small circle is Venus. You can also see some sunspots (which is awesome) on the face of the sun. I've only used my solar filter once before & didn't see any sunspots that time. I thought that maybe the filter sucked, so glad it doesn't (they are spendy!!). Way more than makeup :)

It was gorgeous! I miss star gazing so much. We have alot of light pollution so I don't use my telescope much anymore.
